Review – Pretty x Cation 2

Surprise! Fuzzy’s back from the grave! I had a brief respite from work and got in some eroge time! While everyone else played the arguably better releases of April, I chose to continue the site’s tradition of Cation reviews with Aero’s blessing. As many of you know, Pretty x Cation 1 was painfully average or a traumatic letdown compared to Lovely x Cation. Some players have probably sworn the series off for good.

However, when I saw the new heroines, the new artist, and E-mote, I thought maybe…just MAYBE…the developers did better this time. So is PxC2 a story of redemption? Or does the cycle of hatred repeat? A little of both!

Thoughts on Majikoi A-4

This post contains major spoilers for this game, so proceed at your own risk.

So it’s time for the long awaited A-4 disc which holds routes for Rinchuu and Homura. I’m sure a lot of people were looking forward to this disc because it they focus on the characters from the west and those that are part of the “Ryouzanpaku”. Both these groups of characters made their biggest appearances in Majikoi-S, and have since been briefly scattered about the other discs in the A-series. However we look into that side of the world in a lot more detail in this disc.

Thoughts on Majikoi A-3

This post contains spoilers for this game, so proceed at your own risk.

Once again I would like to say that this post is in no way a review for A-3. This post summarizes parts of the route, and contains a lot of my personal opinions.

A-3 contains routes for Stacy, and Lee, who are maids of the Kuki Corporation. The game also has two after stories for Tsubame, one for each of her different dispositions.

Before I move onto talk about the routes, I’m sure that a lot of people were like me, and didn’t really expect much from A-3 because of the routes for Stacy and Lee. Hell, I know a lot of people wanted routes or after stories made for other characters. However to my pleasant surprise both Stacy’s and Lee’s routes turned out to be quite good.

Walkure Romanze More & More Review

IT’S TIME!!! After waiting for 2 years, Walkure Romanze is back in full swing with the anime airing and the release of the fandisk spin-off (as Ricotta emphasizes), More & More. I wouldn’t be surprised if most of you have already dropped the anime (of course they’d pull a Majikoi, lol). Much like Majikoi S though, I still had faith in WR M&M and it’s been one of my most anticipated eroge releases this year. Aero and I did the first game’s review, but this time, he passed the reins to me. I finished this review much earlier, but I delayed posting because Ricotta just completed its general character poll for Walkure Romanze! I’ll add commentary to the end. (Okay, maaaybe I was absorbed in Ace Attorney 5 too ;))

I’m assuming the reader has some basic knowledge of the series so I don’t get bogged down with character intros and jousting. If not, you can check out the first review where Aero and I explained a lot, or watch the anime!

Finally!!!

The world’s best knights gather at Winford Academy and it’s gotten quite lively with the jousting tournament nearing. Due to a misunderstanding, Takahiro’s osananajimi Mio was challenged by the proud Bertille to a match at the tournament. Since she hadn’t even rode on a horse before, he ended up guiding her to victory as a begleiter (knight’s assistant). With many watching the wonderful match, his skills as a begleiter were noticed by many students and they took quite an interest in him! However, he was unsure if he wanted to continue on as a begleiter or to return to being a knight. How will he fare in the both the arenas of jousting and love? (From Micchi)

Karumaruka*Circle Review

I’m alive again! I haven’t been active lately because all the games I played lately sucked in one way or the other, including this one, so I couldn’t bring myself to write about them. But this time, there’ll be two people telling you how much this game sucked!

Aero here. Though I won’t say that this game was a COMPLETE failure, I will say that it was a chore to play through.

Our guy Kaito was casually strolling down the street when suddenly a girl with a curious pet turtle jumped out of nowhere and said to him “YOU ARE JESUS!”(very loose translation) then dragged him to a room where a bunch of weirdos await him. Which, understandably, got him just as confused as we are, especially considering the incomprehensible presence of a girl who appears to like him against her own will. And in some (not really) twisted turn of events, he joined their star club, and so begins the train wreck story involving stars, sins, and whatnot that hardly makes sense until the very end and may leave you wondering why did you bother with this in the beginning.

[NSFW] Review – Grimoire no Shisho

WARNING: Another NSFW post. Although this is a VANILLA game (mostly), reader discretion is still advised.

Fuzzy here again! This time, I’m posting solo. You may have seen my previous contributions to the blog as a guest or my name in the comments sections. After some discussion, Aero offered to add me to the team so that I’ll stop nagging him in order to diversify the blog. I can’t promise I’ll post consistently, but surely with FOUR lazy bums on one site, the blog will appear more active right? ….right? <_<
Anyway, as long as there are eroge I find interesting that haven’t been reviewed to death, I will gladly post something.

The problem is…I haven’t been playing anything review worthy! So I planned to do a filler post on a nukige since it’s been a few months since the last nsfw post (<– making excuses). Grimoire no Shisho was made by Astronauts: Alya, one of three teams of the parent brand Astronauts (founded by former Atelier Kaguya employees). Regardless of what the cgs imply, this game is VANILLA. However, there are avoidable game overs with scenes tailored for the dark side. I played all the Astronauts games to date and enjoyed Alya’s debut title Spocon!.

So I expected Grimoire to be another nukige with a fantasy setting, instead I got an eroge with an identity crisis. Specifically, I encountered the timeless issue of how to treat a nukige (or is it?) that puts effort into the scenario and world building. (By effort, I mean above the usual bottom of the barrel standards.)

Magic exists in the world of Grand Esteca. There’s a magic library in the town of Altrium where all books of sorcery are kept. There resides a closely guarded book 30 floors underneath the library: the powerful book of sorcery, Grimoire, within which was sealed the demon who unleashed his fury in a war long ago. However, now he is merely a perverted demon with no dignity whatsoever. The librarian Mihai loves reading books and came upon and became friends with Grimoire. He respected the demon despite his current situation due to his immense magical knowledge. However, one day, someone stole these pages of knowledge from Grimoire and they ended up dispersed in other continents. It might cause a new world war to break out. Concerned about the situation, the sage Maynard ordered Mihai to recover the pages. (Borrowed from Micchi)

Shukufuku no Kane no Oto wa, Sakura-iro no Kaze to Tomo ni

Hey all! Been a bit dead around here lately >____>. I know that Aedes is just lazy, but I have NO IDEA what Aqua is up to. Anyway, I actually finished Hatsuyuki Sakura something like a week ago. Unfortunately Aedes did a review on that like a week after it came out, which took away any thoughts of writing something about that. Btw, the game was great; as expected of Saga Planets.

Back on topic, I decided to go for a cute and funny slice of life game. Enjoy ^^

Shuuji lived with his musician father Yuuhei, but the family debt had gotten to the point where it was impossible for them to pay it off. They had prepared themselves to run away at a moment’s notice, but one day Shuuji’s grandfather Genzou appeared and wanted him to succeed the Ootori family line. Since the Ootori is a famous family which has great influence in many places, their debt would be fully paid off should he agree to Genzou’s request. Shuuji consented to it, but that was not the end of it. As a successor to the Ootori household, he must have a wife, so it was arranged that he be married to his cousin Maria. Of course, both of them opposed the engagement. Genzou told him that he should find himself a wife instead, but he only has one year to do so, otherwise the engagement will continue as planned. So begins Shuuji’s search for a bride at Minami-Sakuragaoka Gakuen.

Thoughts on Majikoi A-2

This post contains spoilers for this game, so proceed at your own risk.

Before moving onto the main part of this post I wanna point out that this post is NOT a review. Given that, what I write may or may not be bias. Once again, this is not a review; just my thoughts.

Anyway for those who don’t know, Majikoi A-2 is the second disc of Majikoi A series and it features routes for Seiso and Cookie IS. Along with this, there’s an after story route plus for Monshiro following the events from Majikoi S.

Links: Walkthrough

The voice actor for Mayuzuki Yukie is currently sick and was unable to play the part for this game. I was expecting them reduce Yukie’s role in all routes to a bare minimum, but she actually appeared quite a bit. This other voice actor did a decent job, but I still miss the original =(

I would also like to add that all the comments attached to the following images were written up by Fuzzy. So if the attached comment is weird >___>, direct it at HIM.

Aero-ge Review: Love-ressive

Hey all! It’s been ages since I’ve written something for the blog. Real life is partly to blame, but’s it mostly because I’ve been playing a lot of eroge lately. Also I’ve been going a bit crazy with board games and Dota 2 as well. If it’s any consolation, I do “intend” to be a little more active around here. I talk more about what I plan to write about at the end of this review.
